Eastbourne Shout
650 people sing on the seafront
Despite the last minute change of location, the race to acquire a marquee, stage and PA system and the rush to get the word out, “Eastbourne Shout! 2012” was the most successful to date. Approximately 650 people joined Shout leaders from Ratton, Parklands Infants and Ocklynge Juniors and our Worshipful Mayor Councillor Carolyn Heaps in an 80’s themed sing along.
“All our Shout Leaders worked extra hard this year.’ says Community Arts Officer, Miz Wells, ‘Having a live Band, comprising of Ratton Students, made such a difference, all our younger participants felt like little rock stars.” that is due to all your hard work and willingness to participate.
“It was amazing to see so many people of Eastbourne united by singing,” commented one young Shout Leader. “It should definitely be done more,” said one participant, “it’s a lot of fun!”
There will be a second Mini-Shout this year as part of Eastbourne Borough Councils Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. This will take place at 11am on the western lawns on Bank Holiday Monday 4th June. WE will be adding a couple of songs to this years list so watch this space for updates!
